The answer is simple. Strings go dead for two reasons: corrosion attacks the metal surface, and stuff on your fingers clogs the space between the string windings. Elixir^® Strings is the only string that prevents corrosion and contamination from accumulating on the surface and, most importantly, collecting in the space between the windings.

Lubricants are not necessary or recommended. The POLYWEB and NANOWEB Coatings are chemically inert, so they will not be effected in any way by lubricants or cleaners. However, it is not necessary, or beneficial, to use a string lubricant or cleaner with Elixir^® Strings.
