I’ve always advocated fresh new strings for every performance. I never could have predicted this would change, but it has. A dear friend recommended Elixir® Strings to me, in this high tech world, word of mouth is still of such value. Some strings dull during a single performance whilst Elixir® Strings shine on through many hot and exciting shows. I’m telling you! Listen and hear for yourself.

'What I love about Elixir® Strings is they add a dimension of warmth to my Strat without losing any definition, making it sound great as a Jazz Guitar.'

I am trying to discern what it is that you are doing in the manufacturing process that is contrary to most traditional methods of today. In short, the strings are just too good!!!!! Yes as difficult as this concept might be to grasp your strings seem to be like the 'Pink Bunny' they keep going and going and going! Please be assured this is not an idle observation. I have been playing, buying, selling and appraising mandolins for 40 years and I have never seen strings that could outperform Elixir® Strings. In May I put a set on a 1950 Gibson F-12 that I own and have been playing that instrument quite a bit since. As I was changing the strings this past weekend (August) the G strings were pretty much gone, as you might well imagine. I have always changed strings one at a time and when I got to changing the D string the old string sounded nearly as good as the new one. Honestly this has never happened to me before.
About a year and a half ago I put Elixir® Strings on my two Martin guitars and I have been using them ever since. All I ask is that you please don’t change what you are doing! Elixir® Strings are currently on all 10 of my mandolins and I recommend them without hesitation, to everyone that I deal with. Thanks for producing such a great product.

I recently picked up an old Martin D-35. My old Guild G-37 was in the shop having bridge re-glued and I was used to its bright, ringing sound. The Martin sounded dull in comparison, muddy and unresponsive. Through a recommendation from friends I tried out Elixir® Strings with Nanoweb® coating, medium-light gauge, it sounded like a different instrument. The richness of tone that I had expected came out, and the little finger runs that are a significant part of my playing could be clearly heard.
I have always had a heavy hand and tended to buy strings in bulk by gauges so that when I popped a G I could just sling another one on and keep on going. I haven’t had that problem with Elixir® Strings, aside from one break I have not had to replace individual strings on any of my Guitars I have strung with Elixir® Strings. The set that was put on the Guild when it came out of the shop is just now starting to show some wear, some five months later.
I have been playing acoustic music for 30 years-in living rooms, coffee houses, restaurants, theaters, bars and night clubs across the west. I’ve tried everything from Nashville straights to Martin Marquises to D’Addario Phospher Bronze. I have never felt called upon to write to a string manufacturer before. Thanks for making such a great product.

I’ve been playing bass for 20 years. I am self-taught. My first bass was a 67 precision Fender and naturally I equipped it with Fender Strings. I found that they had a whimpy sound and they didn’t last. I model my playing after John Entwhisle and Steve Harris who both use Rotosound strings. So I too, went to Rotosound strings, extra heavy, long scale. I’m after the heavy twanging sound of a heavier string, so I would give up a little tone for twang. Problem was I could burn through a set in week.
Several years ago I was introduced to Elixir® Strings, These strings rock! I’ve never even been tempted to try another string since. They last 3-4 times longer than any string I have tried and they are the most bendable heavy string I’ve ever used. I also enjoy the added speed I get from the coating and the less wear and tear on my fingers.
Great sustain, great tone…Hearing is believing.
